Sutton Cricket Club’s 1st XI delivered a statement performance to secure a convincing win over Hornsea 1st XI, lifting themselves off the bottom of the table in emphatic style. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sutton laid down a huge total of 285/9 from their 50 overs. The foundation of the massive score was a spectacular 155-run partnership between Prince Bedi and Aaron Blagg. Bedi led the way with a top-scoring 93 off 113 balls, while Blagg provided superb fluency at the other end, smashing 80 off 96 balls to put Hornsea under immense pressure.
In reply, Hornsea never looked comfortable against a relentless Sutton bowling attack that made quick work of the chase. Harpreet Singh continued his outstanding start at the club, spearheading the bowling unit with a dominant spell of 4 for 38 off 10.1 overs to rip through Hornsea's lineup.
He was supported brilliantly by Hamza Khan, who kept tight control throughout his spell to finish with clinical figures of 3 for 26 from 9 overs. Hornsea were ultimately skittled for 174 in 33.1 overs, handing Sutton a resounding 111-run victory and a vital boost in their league campaign.

Sutton Cricket Club’s 2nd XI fell just short in a thrilling, heart-stopping encounter against North Ferriby, as their remarkable nine-game winning streak came to a dramatic end by just 10 runs. Put in to bowl first after losing the toss, Sutton struck early, but North Ferriby quickly countered with an aggressive scoring charge. However, Sutton’s attack held their nerve, dragging the run rate back through sharp fielding and disciplined bowling to bowl North Ferriby out for 213 in 36.2 overs. Amit Shekhawat led the fightback with figures of 3 for 32 from 7 overs, closely supported by Rehan Nisar’s clinical 3 for 37 off 9.2 overs.
Sutton made hard work of the target, suffering a disastrous top-order collapse under pressure. Zehshaan Rana temporarily halted the slide, anchoring the early chase with a resilient 47 off 54 balls, but when he fell, Sutton found themselves teetering on the brink at a dire 102/8. Enter debutant N Chaudhary and Rehan Nisar, who launched an extraordinary counter-attack. Combining calm, controlled shot selection with fearless power-hitting, the pair stunned North Ferriby by producing a brilliant partnership that dragged Sutton back into contention, advancing the total to 174 before Chaudhary was finally caught.
With the game hanging in the balance, Nisar took full charge, producing a sensational late effort that brought Sutton within touching distance of an unbelievable victory. However, with the finish line in sight, Nisar went for one big shot too many and was dismissed ending with 49 off 40 balls, leaving Sutton all out for 204. Though the agonizing 10-run loss halted their impressive winning run, the 2nd XI earned immense credit for an unforgettable fightback that nearly stole victory from the jaws of defeat.

Sutton Cricket Club’s 3rd XI endured a tough outing against Welton, suffering a heavy defeat after opting to field first upon winning the toss. Welton’s opening pair put on a ruthless display, batting through the entire 40 overs untouched to post a formidable 208/0. Despite the onslaught from the visitors, Tom Ransom delivered a remarkably disciplined and economical spell amidst the tough conditions, conceding just 19 runs from his seven overs to provide a clear bright spot in the field.
Sutton’s response never managed to gain momentum against a relentless Welton attack backed up by sharp fielding throughout. Struggling to build partnerships or break free from the tight bowling lines, Sutton were ultimately restricted to just 71 runs. While it was a difficult day at the crease for the 3rd XI, they will look to dust themselves down, draw on Ransom's standout opening spell, and bounce back in their next fixture.
