Sutton Cricket Club’s 1st XI delivered a clinical, all-round performance to secure a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Wykeham 1st XI. Bowling first, Sutton’s attack quickly took control of the contest, starving the visitors of runs and consistently taking wickets to bowl Wykeham out for 175 on the final ball of their 40 overs. Chris Matthews led the charge with a fantastic spell, taking 3/26 from his 8 overs, while Archie Smithson provided relentless work at the other end, bowling a marathon 12.4 overs to claim 2/42.
Chasing 176 for the win, Sutton’s openers made light work of the target, putting on a magnificent 118-run opening partnership that completely put the game out of Wykeham's reach. Rahul Popli was in sensational form, launching a blistering assault on the opposition attack to score 90 runs off just 58 balls. He was anchored brilliantly by Johnny Hambly, whose patient 28 off 83 balls provided the perfect foil for Popli’s aggressive strokeplay.
Sutton’s top order ensured there were no mid-innings stumbles, knocking off the remaining runs with ease to reach 176/2 in just 32.1 overs. The dominant eight-wicket win, sealed with nearly eight overs to spare, capped off a thoroughly complete team performance from start to finish.

Sutton Cricket Club’s 2nd XI produced a stunning performance to comfortably defeat 2nd-placed Driffield Town 3rd XI by six wickets. After Driffield won the toss and elected to bat first, Sutton’s bowling attack immediately set the tone with a relentless, disciplined display. Rehan Nisar led the frontline assault with an impressive 3/23 from his 8 overs, supported brilliantly by Yasir Bashir’s marathon spell of 3/35 off 11 overs. Charlie Brook then polished off the tail in style, taking 2/6 in just 1.5 overs to bowl the promotion-chasers out for a modest 136.
Chasing 137 for a statement victory, Sutton’s top order made light work of the target with a calm and controlled run chase. Zehshaan Rana put on a masterclass at the crease, dominating the Driffield attack with a fluent 70 off 78 balls. He was partnered brilliantly by Jon Petfield, who anchored the middle overs with a composed 40 off 62 balls to ensure there was no late drama.
The pair effectively put the contest out of reach, allowing Sutton to cruise past the total and finish on 137/4 in just 26.2 overs. The emphatic six-wicket win with plenty of overs to spare capped off an outstanding afternoon, showcasing Sutton 2nd XI's ability to take on and beat the league's top sides. The result makes this 6 wins in a row for the 2nd XI, with this being the 4th in the league.

Sutton Cricket Club’s 3rd XI put up a courageous run chase but ultimately fell just short, losing by 23 runs in a high-scoring encounter against Beverley Sunday XI. Opting to bat first, Beverley set a daunting target by racking up 224/4 from their 40 overs. Despite Sutton’s bowlers working hard to make breakthroughs, Beverley’s top order kept the boundary count high and capitalized on late-innings acceleration to build a commanding total.
Chasing 225 for victory, Sutton’s reply was defined by a brilliant, mature knock from young George Crawford. Playing with composure well beyond his years, Crawford anchored the innings with a magnificent 85 off 93 balls, keeping Sutton well within reach of the target and putting serious pressure on the Beverley attack as the overs ticked away.
Despite Crawford's standout effort and solid middle-order contributions, Sutton couldn't quite keep up with the steep required run rate in the closing stages. They closed out their 40 overs on a respectable 201/7, falling 23 runs shy, but taking plenty of encouragement from a fighting team performance and an exceptional individual display from their young star.
